Michael Young’s sculpture “Two in the Hand” is a monument to optimism. Explaining his work Young said, “Two in the hand is better than one in the hand,” a sentiment with which no one can argue. While the proverb Young’s work recalls urges prudence for the hunter, his sculpture rejects that cautiousness and celebrates the easy bounty.

“Two in the Hand” represents an aspiration. While the traditional hunter must forgo the chance at the big game in exchange for the sure bet, Young, whose bait is the swirling beauty of manifold silver feathers, knows that settling for just one is for the birds.
