Michael Young believes there is not enough sculpture in the world. Fortunately, that feeling has motivated him to attempt to close the gap between “too few” and “enough.”

Young works with a host of materials such as aluminum and bronze but he also cleverly utilizes light, both natural and neon.

“Swoop” is a twenty four foot tall windswept work of aluminum which throws off wisps of sunlight as it catches beams of neon from its internal lighting element. A look at “Swoop” may remind us of a decorative headdress, a bird’s wing, or something else altogether but, whatever we see, the tall sculpture’s impression is potently and unmistakably bold.
