Ted Sitting Crow Garner is a craftsman’s engineer or an engineer’s craftsman. His work deploys a structural integrity rarely found. He joins cold, hard steel and creates fluid lines and gentle sweeps. There is never a rough edge or a joint not perfectly aligned. But the eye only notices a symmetry – one that flows throughout the construction.

Originally designed for a competition held by a welding equipment manufacturer, “Wending” is a sly take on the theme of the exhibit. But it is also a nod to the fact that we all “wend” our way through life. Very few of us are able to manage the adroitness of welding while we wend. Ted Garner does it with grace.
