Pam Reithmeier encourages viewers to connect with “Forget Me Never” on a very personal level. “Forget Me Never” was inspired by the grief that comes from losing a loved one and how that grief can turn anyone’s world upside down. This is represented by the outer upside down heart on this steel sculpture.

The forget-me-not flowers are often used as a sign of remembrance and to show that although someone may be gone, they are not forgotten. We take comfort in the memories of the person that was lost. Forget Me Never reminds us that these memories can help see us through the grief and give us hope for happiness to come.
