Suzanne Horwitz represents a child’s love of the rhythmic sound of the ocean in “Nautilus.” It is reminiscent of watching the ever-changing wave patterns, being tossed around by the waves’ power, and the finding of shells (nature’s miniature sculptures). The changing wave pattern echoes the progressive nature of life’s experiences and offers a chance to connect with the soul.

In Nautilus, aluminum is used to show the properties of the water’s movement. It is best expressed by the unpainted, ground and, somewhat, reflective surface.
