Ron Gard received a Bachelors degree in art from Western Illinois University. He opened his own studio and has been catering to a wide range of clientele for over 30 years. His large-scale sculptures have been exhibited throughout Chicago and the Midwest.
“Coming Home” displays Gard’s innovative interpretation of the way shapes relate to each other and the tension created in a negative space. Gard is open to inspiration from many sources. His observations of the world around him and testing the limits of a material are the forces that get him started. For Gard, art is play and leads his imagination to places of discovery, mystery, and pleasure. He hopes that these emotions are conveyed through his art.
