Gard, a consummate creator, uses his creative and technical talents in the daily operations at his design company. Gard’s company designs and builds props, signs, and unusual environments for the film industry. He also produces furniture and other 3-D elements for individuals and corporations.

In his art Gard’s goal is to make his work animated, even if it is only below the surface. With this piece, which resembles a towering cell in the midst of mitosis, he has created something that is not living but is undeniably expressive of life. At over ten feet tall, “Vivando” swells up and over its viewer casting a daunting, symmetrical and elementally beautiful form.
