At the heart of Beck’s work beats the rhythm and beauty of the dynamic systems found in nature and the sciences. Beck is an accomplished sculptor and has been featured in numerous shows nationwide. Her local credits include a personal exhibit at Harold Washington Library, The Artist Project at the Merchandise Mart, and designing a spectacular garden in Grant Park.

“Fistacuffs” strikes a bold pose. Placing a clenched human fist atop a column intricately adorned with a botanically themed mosaic, “Fistacuffs” continues Beck’s effort to chronicle humanity’s struggle to dominate nature. The mosaic and fiberglass creation combines an aggressive shape with a harmonious mosaic offering a complex yet evident commentary.
