Eric W. Stephenson has participated in the Chicago Sculpture Exhibit many times over the years, always supplying a work of exceptional technical craftsmanship. His recent works demonstrate an interest in the human form. A talented welder, Stephenson creates large steel fabrications. Though it is a completely static medium, his works materialize as animated as you or I.
Stephenson’s sculpture “Shift” achieves this signature combination of craftsmanship and artistry. Stephenson knows exactly what features of the human form to exaggerate and which to strip away in order to convey the jaunty human liveliness that makes his work so charming.
