Steele spent his former life as a lawyer and technology consultant. His experience in those careers emerges in his art. Steele’s works reflect the ordered urban forms of towers and machinery that pervade the contemporary corporate and technology environments.
Steele is not strictly a businessman but also a talented and trained artist who studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and has displayed works throughout Chicagoland. “Victor,” a tower of welded steel spires, looks at the inflexible, systematic structures of industry through the inquisitive artist’s eye. The hope is to discover how the structures we shape often end up shaping us.
