Scarff has earned a distinguished reputation over the past 30 years. A pioneer in the usage of light in sculpture he has been at the forefront of contemporary sculpture. Scarff became a full-time sculptor following a three year stint as art director for the musical “Hair.” The recipient of a Hugo Award from the Chicago Film Festival, he has gained national recognition. He continues to incorporate illumination in large outdoor and indoor public works.

Tom freezes the action in “Moment.” It is about that second, that instant, before something happens, as in “The Moment of Truth” during a bullfight. He has dedicated his sculpture to honor the brave people of Georgia and their struggle to be free of Russian control. This is truly their “Moment of Truth.”
