Michael Brown uses stone to entice the senses. His pieces call for you to touch and explore the intricacies of his designs. While his works can be viewed from a distance, the real awakening comes when you involve yourself in the piece. The invitation is purposeful. Mike works to create the sense that you are being personally invited to delve into the no longer hidden personalities of these immense pieces of Indiana Limestone. The neutral color, subtle grain and fine texture only enhance the sculptural aspect.

Michael Brown was born in northern England and has lived in Canada and the East Coast. He recently retired from teaching to devote all of his energies to sculpting. His work has been shown extensively throughout the United States. This is Michael’s third year with LSE.
