ShenchengXu reveals a new process with each sculpture he creates. There is no hard and fast style that one can look at and discern as being a “Xu.” But there are little glimmers that give it away.

In “Cityscape,” Xu pulls out a most urban icon, a couple walking a dog, and creates a silhouette that stops us in our tracks. How obvious it is and yet we are still compelled to marvel. Nothing is as simple as it looks, but, Xu reminds us of the art that can be found in the simplest acts. The oversized sculpture serves as a talisman for all to stop and appreciate what life has to offer.
