Pat McDonald designed Flight, made of steel and cast concrete, to create wonder and awe in onlookers. The immense weight and volume of the piece is imposing yet draws the viewer in with textural details. The single monumental form encourages viewers to explore its mass and negative shape. Flight weighs more than 12 tons and stands 12 feet tall and 10 feet wide.
