Michael Brown hopes that people will stop and experience some personal time, perhaps interpreting his work in a narrative of their own choosing, reflecting their own personal life experiences. The hear-and-now of introspection is ever more important with our type-A lifestyles.     “Confluence” continues to showcase Brown’s incredible range in using stone to create a sculpture that is both personal and communal. The title suggests the coming together of two or more visual elements to create a unity. The relief carving on the 12 foot tall limestone sculpture can be read as flowing elements over a surface and experienced much like an open book.
