Living Sculptures or Environmental Sculptures are best represented by artists who have a deep understanding of the Earth and its many layers. Jason Verbeekis one of the best. He shapes the landscape, through excavation and restoration, and has an inordinate understanding of the natural environment. He creates sculptures that interpret and compliment the surroundings.

This dragon fly is “teathered” to the earth but seems determined to break free. The rising earth appears to be pulled out by the sheer force of this one dragon fly. This steel dragon fly will move heaven and earth (literally) to break the chains that keep it teathered.
