LOCATION: 1449 N. Wells

SIZE: 10’ x 4’ x 4’

MATERIALS: Galvanized, Powder-Coated Steel

SPONSOR: Old Town Merchants & Residents Association

Jack Howard-Potter capturesmovement of the human figure through a medium that does not move. The motion of the body in extremely stressful and beautiful situations is caught and locked in time. We are able to visualize the actions that lead up to this specific pose and what follows.

“Larm” is a title with no meaning. It is left up to the interpretation of the viewer. The anatomy of a figure is a starting point that brings together other parts that would never occur in nature. This creates some interesting forms that seem familiar yet unknown. The brightly colored surfaces draw the eye to these shapes creating a constant and perceived movement in this abstract figure.
