In Chris Newman’s “Leapfrog Bridge”, simple, straight lines skew easily into improbable angles: effortless, sleek, and controlled. When Newman creates a public work he is always generous to his audience, never skimping on the angles. “Leapfrog Bridge” is no exception, with ample perspectives from which to inspect and interpret the work.

Newman received his BFA and MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and continued on to teach in the Keystone State. He now lives and works in Chicago. Newman believes that “Leapfrog Bridge” is about balance put to the human scale: a balance between angles, panes and prisms which “create intriguing dialogues,” dialogues capable of changing opinions as frequently as the viewer can change perspective.
